Obliques

Obliques are a group of muscles that support the abdominal contents and provide stability to the core in rotation, flexion and lifting.  This group of muscles is made up of the external oblique, internal oblique and transversus abdominis.  These muscles are also important stabilizers of the pelvis!  Below are some examples of activities you can perform to strengthen these muscles.

MANY patients are anterior chain dominant (meaning their quads and hip flexors are stronger than their Glut/Hamstrings).  If this is the case or we have talked about this OR discussed having "lower cross syndrome", you should avoid these particular exercises.
